Common Man Tips and the Skills of Servant Leadership:

The common man needs somewhere to go to get tips on just about everything, especially if he doesn’t want to remain a common man.  The problem is that no one site has all the answers or tips.  Well, this one doesn't either but it still gets a lot done.  And we focus on helping you gain the skills of servant leadership.

Let's review a few items that a common man comes across almost every day and which he may need direction on.  How about food, sleeping, entertainment, health, communications - I could go on and on but I'd probably lose you.  We should probably start with what means the most to each of us - how to continually better ourselves so we can handle what life throws at us.  Now that's a tip for each and every common man who wants to learn the skills of servant leadership.

Reading for a few minutes a day (newspapers and periodicals don't count) would be a good start on the way to learning skills of servant leadership.  How about one of the following books for those who are just getting their feet wet.  Oh, and I'll categorize them to make it easier for you.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

People Skills (servant leadership)
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

"Hey", you say, "I haven't read a book since college!  And I never liked it!"  Well, let me ask you, what do you see yourself doing in the next 5 or 10 years?  If you don't have a plan or goal, I'll wager that you'll definitely achieve it.  Want to improve and learn skills of servant leadership?

So don't you think 15 minutes a day is worth it to potentially start to make your life a little more eventful?  And you'll notice that these are all skill based not talent based - you can learn them and enter the fraternity of servant leadership!!

OK, I know, it just sounds like a bunch of rah-rah stuff to sell something.  Well, duh, yeah!  But it's an investment, not money down the drain.  I'll guarantee you that at the very least, if you read a little every day you will slowly learn the skills of servant leadership, and you'll find yourself planning things, setting goals, and probably making more money, not mentioning the improvements to the relationships with family and friends!

Think about it.  Take a chance!  Statistics say that if you take your 5 closest friends, estimate their annual salaries, average them, you'll find that's very close to what you make!  You know what that means?  You need to associate with people who are more successful in order to be more successful and you need to learn the skills of servant leadership.  That doesn't mean ditch your current friends (although you may want to get rid of one or two of them) that just means you should be doing some elbow-rubbing with someone more successful than you as another way to learn the skills of servant leadership.

Get with it!  It's time to change!  Look at yourself and decide whether you want to stay where you are or get to a better place where you're able to give a little back to your family, friends, and community.  Oh, and it's never too late to start!  Even if and especially if you are a common man, and you want to be an un-common man, you will benefit from this tip.  It's the tip to your potential new life – that of servant leadership with the skills to propel you forward!
